Your score builds over time through daily logging. Each pillar has a daily gain cap and a diminishing returns curve — early progress is fast, but reaching the top takes sustained consistency. Unhealthy choices subtract points. If you stop logging a pillar, it holds for 2 days then gradually decays.
Helix is Eight Health's AI analyst. It analyzes your patterns across all 8 pillars, finds correlations between your habits, maps health impacts, and builds a prioritized action plan. Your data is sent anonymously — no name, email, or identifying information is included.
Yes. All your data is stored locally on your device. When you use Helix, only anonymized health metrics are sent — never your name, email, or any identifying information. We don't run ads and we never sell your data. You can delete all your data at any time in Settings → Delete All Data.
No. An Apple Watch enhances the experience by auto-syncing sleep, workouts, steps, and heart rate via Apple Health. But every feature works with manual logging too.
Eight Health+ is an optional subscription that unlocks AI-powered features: Ask Helix, Deep Analysis, Helix Meal Suggester, Grocery Order Import, Scan Plate, and Lab Results Import. The free tier gives you full access to health tracking, your score, daily insights, protocols, and achievements.
Go to iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Eight Health, then tap Cancel Subscription. You can also tap Manage Subscription in the Eight Health app under Profile. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period.
Open Eight Health, go to Profile → Settings → Delete All Data. This permanently removes all locally stored health data from your device. The action is irreversible. Uninstalling the app also removes all data.
No. Eight Health is a personal wellness tracking tool, not a medical device or service. It works like a personal health coach — helping you track habits and understand patterns. Troubleshooting
Common issues
Apple Health isn't syncing
Go to iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Eight Health and make sure all relevant categories are toggled on. Then return to Eight Health, go to Profile → Apple Health → Reconnect.
My subscription isn't unlocking features
Go to Profile → Settings and tap Restore Purchases. If that doesn't work, force close the app and reopen it. If the issue persists, email us at hello@eighthealth.ai with your Apple ID email.
Helix isn't responding
Helix requires an internet connection. Check your connection and try again. If Helix times out, it may be a temporary server issue — wait a few minutes and retry.
My score doesn't seem right
Scores update after logging. Make sure Apple Health sync is enabled for automatic data. If a pillar seems low, check that pillar's individual entries in the Log tab. You can also email us at hello@eighthealth.ai and we'll take a look.
